Drive with less than a gigabyte on it already half full (Capacity: 465 GB) .

I have an external hard drive that I want to recover my files to. The problem is that I have too many files to put on it. When I go to 'My computer' it says that the drive is half full, but when I look at the properties of it, it says less than one gigabyte is being used (the drive's capacity is 465). I even looked to see if there were any hidden files taking up space, but there were none. This doesn't make sense to me. Do any of you know why this is happening?

  1. You can use this utility to see exactly what is taking up space. You can use the second utility to manage any partitions on the device.
