Need help, HP Pavilion All In One with 8.1 wont boot. Hard Disk Errors (But not always)..

My girlfriend has a HP Pavilion All in One, im not sure on the exact model number but its not touch screen and it has Windows 8.1 64 bit and i know it has an AMD processor. She sells on eBay for a living and this is really hurting her!

We use the computer all day, then all of a sudden goto start it up and get the message, Error: No boot disk has been detected or disk has failed. Most of the time we repeatedly hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE and it keeps trying to boot and after a few trys it normally boots up as normal. Then that error wont happen for a while (weeks -> months) and suddenly it will randomly happen again. This time we cannot get it to boot tho. A repair or installation disc never came with the computer. I have run all kinds of the tests it will let me and they pass. Dont recall the specific names of tests but only one will say No drive or something and thats only half the time. I have tried changing all boot options in BIOS to various ways and it wont give. I reset default in BIOS, still nothing.

There was something about a configuration or recovery im not sure what it was but it was F11 in the little menu i got, and all that does is try to restart it again. without success. I need to get this fixed for her ASAP i cant take her yelling no more!!

Does anyone know what to do? The disk cannot possibly be failed if it has said this before and then worked perfect hundereds of times after and in between. Is there a disc i can download and boot from or anything i can do? Im fairly techy for not having any schooling so i feel comfortable with whatever it is going to take. Some one please just help me!!

  1. That is a hard drive error and before you go to buy a new one if your not too afraid to take the back apart and check the connections to the hard drive it may be a loose connection somewhere or unfortunately the hard drive is going bad and its on the verge of going out completely or it all ready went out and the only solution is to buy a new hard drive :/ I recommend this video.

  2. IF i need a NEW hard drive, what do i do? I can buy one, but how will i get Windows back on it? I have no CD and buying a complete OS with a key would cost a fortune...

    if you have another computer with windows 8 then try this:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive

    And then proceed with this:

    if not then ill need your model number on your computer {NOT YOUR SERIAL #}

    or you can look up the recovery disk ISO's for your computer using your model number.
