The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable...

I'm running Windows 8.1 on my Dell laptop...

I was working on a After Effects project with my WD 1TB external HDD connected...

Suddenly I got a blue screen error and the system restarted...

From then I'm getting

K:\ is not accessible
The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable..


I've tried chkdsk \r.. Doesn't work .. Cannot read disk..


I've very valuable data in it ...

Please help me to fix it...

  1. install and run WD data lifegaurd...run all the test if it fails RMA it (if it still have a warranty) if not buy a new one.

    Using wd datalife guard will let you know if there is physical damage or not

    But to recover important data seek professional help

    Several of the hard disk manufacturers have associated data recovery divisions

    If there is physical damage then there are real problems in recovering data way beyond what you can deal with your self
