More about 4790k 4790k gaming
  1. both performs on par with each other. so i5, obviously. save that moolah for where it counts - the games.
  2. the i5 4790K will be more then sufficient for gaming.
the i7 will only show improvements in games that support hyperthreading. but even in those games the i5 will be more then good enough.
the i5 will last you quite a while, so save your bucks and go for the i5

if you are into video edditing and other CPU intesive things. the i7's hyperthreading will come in handy. and even then you can still use the i5 and get great performance.
the i7 is just overkill for gaming.
  3. If you're planning on just gaming and other light tasks go with the i5
  4. The 4790k is better for gaming than the 4690k however not all games will benefit from the extra L3 cache, extra clock speed and extra threads...

The I7 will be beneficial for Bf4 Multiplayer, Crysis 3 and Wolfenstein to name a few...
  5. ohh thnx guys can i run upcoming games like gta 5 and dragon age batman at 1920x1080 ulta setting with i5 smooth with r9 270x of amd ?? and will you elaborate what is this hyper threading ??
  6. hyperthreeaidng basicly makes 1 physical core work like 2 cores. every clocksignal has an upgoing and downgoing flank. so if I remember correctly. one thread used the upgoing flank, the other one the downgoin flank
someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

and the r9 270x will not run the outcomming games on ultra +60 fps(or recent games for that matter). you'd better get yourself a gtx 970 or wait for the new AMD series to come out (probably in a few months)
thje gtx 970 is at the moment one of the best price/performance cards. they will run every game out now on ultra settings +60 fps and cost around 340 dollars(in europe they are around 350 euro's, I dont know where you are from)
  7. i'm not so sure with the "smooth" part considering the 270x.
hyper threading is basically each core that can handle two threads at a time. think of it as a one way tunnel that has two exits.
  8. m from india my budget for gpu is 300 dollar which is 18k approx so suggest me best gpu in this price so that i can play games ultra or high setting suggest 3-4 gpu so that i select one thnx in advance m not that hardcore gamer gta 5 crysis 3 batman series ac this is all want to play and battle field n cod that it nothing beyond this and if u can suggest a rig under 1000 dollar this wil b a great help thank you once again

  10. Basically the Hyper threading adds four virtual cores which gives the i7 8 threads.

Not all games are able to utilize more than 4 threads and many games use less...

New games are starting to utilize more than 4 threads and there is a good chance that an I7 will be recommended for GTA5 or the new Batman game...

I agree with Ashish Chaudhary recommendation of a gtx 970...
  11. I've upgraded from an i5 3570k to a 4790k and I've noticed a significant improvement in some games...
  12. we don't know how much inflation and availability affects your country's prices. for all we know, an r9 295x2 might be priced at $150 there. we need some kind of a newegg equivalent there so we can compare prices. or maybe give the gpu's that are priced around $300 there so we can give a more accurate suggestion.
  13. now m more confused :(
  14. Get an I7 for video editing get an I5 for gaming.

If you don't mind spending the extra money go with the I7 and the 970...

If you want the best value go with the I5 and the gtx 970.

The bottom line is that a I5 with a 970 will be better for games than a I7 with a 270x...
  16. yes u can suggest 300 dollars gpu and is there any need to spend money on ssd does it make any perfm count or faster ??

I recommend an SSD if you don't mind spending the extra money...

"I have 2 in my rig"
  20. The 840 EVO is an excellent SSD that is reasonably priced...
  21. SSD's will improve load times in games and in some cases reduce hitching & make the gaming experience smoother...
  22. 120gb this is all i can afford now my ques is in this ssd only window need to be kept right if yes than 120gb is enough i have 4 tb hard drive 1tb and a 3tb now if i installed ssd 120gb and kept os in that ssd i will get same perfromance on other games which are installed in hdd ??

120 gb is not enough as when you go over a certain percentage the ssd becomes much slower but it will still be better than a hdd

You will need to install the games on the SSD to benefit.
  25. I didnt read through all of it. but I saw that uyou were going to buy a 4 TB HDD + an SSD.
you can schale down to a 1 or 2 TB hard drive to get the extra money for the gtx 970.
you can even remove that ssd if you still dont have a budget big enough to buy that graphics card.
you can always add an ssd later.
  26. Do you mean i7-4790k vs i5-4690k or Devil's Canyon i7 & i5?

The i7 has hyper-threading where none in i5.
    The i7 start at 4.0ghz while i5 3.5ghz.
the I7 is more expensive while i5 is cheaper.

If pure gaming i5 can handle what i7 can, no performance gains in gaming if your choose i7.
However you will get most of benefits in i7 if you have multiple programs running at the same time, gaming while browsing, gaming while capturing your games, etc.
  27. bro gtx is out of stock here suggest anyother gpu and m not dat hardcore gamer but want to play gta 5 and batman upcoming game 300 dollar is the my budget for gpu may 10 more dollar value for price
  28. check the prices of a gtx 780 gtx 770 and r9 290 and r9 280x there.
  29. 290x is 40k arround 600 dollar :( i want a gpu under 300 dollar Sapphire AMD/ATI Dual-x R9 280X Radeon 3 GB DDR5 Graphics Card this is 300 dollar around 20k this i can afford and
Galaxy NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 GC 2 GB DDR5 Graphics Card
this is also 300 dollar i cant afford 780 and r290x and now tell which should i buy r280 or gtx 770 ??
  30. Best answer
thats why i suggested the gtx 970. it's better then the r9 290x and the gtx 780 and alot cheaper. anyway
did you checkt he r9 290, wihout the x, and the gtx 980 without the ti. because those cards shouldnt be that expensive.

and the r9 280x has pretty much the same performance as the gtx 770. it will depend on the game
