Upgrade Graphic Card or System Components?

Hey Computer Pros,

I am stuck trying to decide which would be best upgrade for my current setup.

I am rocking an Asus P7P55D mobo, i5-750, 4gb ram, Corsair SSD, and 570 GTX card.

So I just bought Shadow of Mordor and looking forward to new borderlands. I wanted to get an idea of what would be best upgrade at this point for me.

I want to get the GTX 970 to run the games on higher settings, would that card work with my current mobo without having issues? If so I can just upgrade that and have better looking games and be happy. Since the most demanding thing I do on my comp is gaming.

OR should I upgrade my system components? Looking to buy;
Asus Z97-A, i5-4670k, 8gb g.skill ram (ddr1866 or 2133) and 840 evo SSD.
then a little bit later i'll buy the gtx 970.

Which would result in better gaming experience? (I have a feeling it's the graphic card upgrade)

Thanks for input!

    The biggest improvement right now would be the graphics card, but the best improvement overall would be the components now and graphics card later.
    The recommended RAM for Shadow of Mordor is 8GB but the required RAM is 3GB, and currently you have the minimum required CPU (according to systemrequirementslab.com)

    I would upgrade the components.
