Change Default Sound Playback Device by a Command Line

Is it possible in Windows 7 to change the default sound playback device via a command line? If so, what would the command be?

I would like to run the command via a batch file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

More about change default sound playback device command line
  1. search on the forum last year someone made this with a wav sound but it have to be at 144 khz to work .
  2. I probably didn't explain what I was looking to do well enough. I want to switch playback devices in general (ex. go from PC Speakers to an HDMI device) not play a specific audio file/sound.
