Overclocking R7770 Club 3D failed multiple times

I am trying to overclock my R7770 overclocked! But everything above a 7.5% overclock seems to fail. The overclock tool i use is EVGA PrecisionX (tried to instal MSI Afterburner but that didn't work on my pc)

My system specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33GHZ overclocked to 3.01 ghz
MOBO: Asus P5K3 Deluxe LGA 775
RAM: 5GB DDR3 (i don't know witch speed around 1200 mhz)
HDD: 1TB WD Green 7200rpm
PSU:Antec 500W 80+

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to change something in the bios?

  1. When you say 7.5%, do you mean 7.5% above stock speeds or 7.5% of the already overclocked speeds?
  2. For the programme to work it needs MSI After Burner as that is the overclocking to from the looks of it (I haven't googled that, from what has been posted) and how can you tell that the overclock hasn't worked, also what do you mean MSI After Burner didn't work on your PC??
