Gigabyte R9 280X OC 3GB GDDR5 Deal

I can get a new Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X OC 3GB GDDR5 GPU refurbished in a deal for 230$, but it comes without warranty. Is it a good price/opportunity (usually it costs 260$)?

Between other 280X versions is it a good GPU?

In amazon.com it costs 300$.

  1. Yes! That's an amazing deal. And a great card.
    Go for it! :D
  2. If it is truly new then yes its a good deal.
  3. I assume it's new right? If not then you could get a cheaper used one from ebay. I just recently grabbed a HD7970(R9 280x) for $150. If it's new then it's a great deal. :)
  4. Go For it , Its almost as strong as a GTX 770 and dependent on the game it can be stronger in some cases . Absolute Bang for your buck .
  5. What pulls me back is the "refurbished" and the absence of warranty, would these be a problem?

These might be a problem to be honest , If its refurbished with no warranty then something isn't right. Most of the refurbished products come with Warranty to give the customer the impression that its good but I am skeptical about that deal.

  8. In other words it is not a new card... It is most likely a card that got RMA'd - they fixed it and are now trying to resell it. But with no warranty? eh i'd pass.

Agreed! Don't do it. Not a good idea at all.
    Get the 280 or a GTX 760 if you can't afford a new 280X. :)
  10. I contacted the Support and it has 1 year of warranty (the usual is 2), they told me that refurbished products are safe, is it secure?
  11. Where is this deal? Link?
  12. Something isn't right .

    ^ Agreed. It's dodgy. Don't do it.
Always a much better idea to buy new. :)
  14. Ok, I'll buy a new.

    Thanks
  15. All good!
Enjoy your new card, let us know how you like it. :D
  16. I'll get the same card with 2 years of warranty, it just costs 10$ more.
