I'm planning on buying two ZBOX-EI730-U. I have high hopes of installing a small 60GB mSata drive and a 500GB HDD. To be perfectly honest, it's not a huge area of expertise for me, but I would to learn. These devices will be for my kids and I intend for them to use it as an IDE machine and web browser.
Should I just go with a 256GB SSD instead and leave the mSata port open? The device already has built in Wi-FI so I don't know what I would populate the port with other than a storage device.
Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.
Yes the Linux kernel contains drivers for Intel's firmware assisted RAID controller (IRST). It does not natively supports Intel's Smart Response Technology (which uses an SSD as an HDD cache) but Bcache can be used as a software workaround.
