  1. Are you running any test programs to work your cpu or is this at idle? Is it a stock cooler?

I am running a few non testing programs. Mostly stock trading applications
  3. Ideal? - not bad. You must have a stock cooler. Even fairly inexpensive coolers will do a better job & not make near as much noise. I would not worry about your temps - if you do not like the noise - get an aftermarket cooler if it will fit in your case. You have not given your full system specs, so I can't give details.

  6. Is it your 9800GT that is loud. I have one computer at work with a 9800 and after I put MSI afterburner on and set-up the fan profile it was much quieter.
