Gaming Laptop Having Low FPS With Minecraft! Help!

Hi, this the first time I've been on this website, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting this kind of question, but I really need some help. :/ I have the MSI laptop GX70 3BE.

I've been playing Minecraft for awhile now, but I've only, on average, around 15-30 FPS... I don't think this is normal for a laptop that can run Skyrim perfectly well and is specifically designed for gaming. I even have optifine and still get this average amount of FPS. I also set fancy to fast, the distance to 8 chunks (normal), but nothing is helping... I set Minecraft to use the better graphics card out of the two that this laptop has. I also allocated 2GB of RAM to Minecraft, instead of 1GB. I'm not sure what else to do and hope that someone might be able to give me some advice. Is this average FPS normal for this kind of laptop on Minecraft?

My specs are:
Processor: AMD A10-5750M @ 3.5 GHZ
RAM: 8 GB
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 8670M with 2GB of VRAM

If you need more specifications, here's a link that gives a lot of info on my gaming laptop:

I hope someone can help me. :(

  1. use malwarebytes? and then update your driver. if it's not working reinstall your graphic driver using DDU.

plug your laptop in and also change the battery to high performance.

I have Catalyst control center (for AMD) and set java to high performance, and realized that my laptop's battery was on power saver. I set the battery to high performance, tried to run Minecraft, but now I get a black screen... I can still click and hear the buttons being pressed on the menu, but it stays a black screen...
  3. blackscreen after changing to high performance? how come? have you tried to restart the game? and the laptops?
  4. That happened to me too and i just download the lates drivers and now i have more than 100 fps

    Did u update your driver?
  5. Do you have 64-bit java installed? It makes the world of difference in minecraft fps.

Edit: Although allocating 2 gb to Minecraft doesn't hurt anything, it's not at all necessary.

Set the power to balance. Otherwise, Its definetly some malware causing it, what i want you to do.

    Install malwarebytes:http://malwarebytes.org/

Do a custom scan and search for rootkits, malware etc.

Then once thats finished, Install hitmanpro.

Do the setup and do a scan, it should find a lot.

Now, install avast antivirus, and do a full system scan there, it will protect your system from there foward.
