  1. Forget MSI boards , go with one of the ASUS HERO boards.I have the VI HERO , fantastic board.
  2. With a 4770K either the Hero VI or the Hero VII, I have both with 4770Ks in them the VII runs cooler and OCs a little better, handles DRAM better, and didn't think I be saying it, but the BIOS is actually better on the VII and I loved the BIOS in the VI, Asus is continuing their mastery of the 1150 mobos, am hoping for even more when the 46 and 4790K CPUs are released :)

Thanks so the Hero VII is worth it.
  5. Originally I was thinking of going the 4690K with this and set it up as a gaming rig for use and primarily for clients to see and maybe even play on, as well as a work station and keep my HeroVI with the 4770K as a heavy workstation, but am now thinking a 4790K and for both heavy workstation and gaming, I figured it would be better, but it's better than I expected

Did the release for the 4790k get pushed back? I haven't purchased the 4770k yet but I don't want to wait a long time if you know what I mean.
  7. Thinking June, haven't hear anything 'official' but I'm thinking June, maybe during or after Computex, they are planning some big OC competions there on mobos, CPUs and DRAM and just have to think that's a good Spot for Intel to 'unveil' Devils Canyon K models and the new TIMs

Yea I heard June 2nd but then I heard it got pushed back to August. Im not sure what to do lol.
  9. Even if it does get pushed back, by keeping an eye on prices the next week or so may have a better idea and might find a great deal on the current Ks, have a feeling they will be wanting to drop inventory

Might well be, they (the Egg) already are showing the 4820K on sale, have the Hero VI down to $180, have a combo on the Z97 Pro, 4770K and 16GB od DRAM for about $600

Don't you need and different mobo for 4820k though?
  13. Oh yeah - that's 2011 - was just pointing out they are already advertising some CPUs, there should be more Sat and more Sunday and maybe even more Mon - some will depend on how sales go - if large demand on something - say the 4820K then they may drop the sale and change it to 4770K or something else - they will want to maintain some stock for after the week end so they don't lose sales to other places

I am trying to pick up the rest of my parts. As of now I have a nzxt h440 in red and black, asus gtx 770 oc and an evga 650 watt gold psu. It is going to be a major upgrade coming from a base iMac lol
  19. You'll love it, and if any problems along the way (other than money ;) ) give a shout !

    Lol will do
  21. Just picked up hero vi with 4770k, should I have gotten the vii hero?
  22. Think I mentioned the VII offers the CPU upgrade path for refresh and for Broadwell, but the VI should keep you happy for a decent period of time, by then it will be DDR4 mobos and CPUs
