PC won't boot past splash screen with HDD connected

Hello, as the title states, my pc won't boot past the ASUS ROG splash screen when the HDD is connected. Weird thing however is that it was working fine with both HDD and SSD plugged into my mb for more than 2 weeks, but suddenly it wouldn't boot past the splash screen and it didn't respond to pressing del or f2 either. After some troubleshooting and trying to figure out what was wrong I got it to boot after I disconnected the HDD. Tried some other configurations to test if it would work in any other SATA ports or with another cable, but it wouldn't boot with the HDD connected. When I disable the splash screen is doesn't show an error message.
Any suggestions? Here's my parts list if it helps: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3jbrk

  1. does your HDD still detected in BIOS? I think its something to do with your HDD's PCB. It might have been possibly affected with a power surge or a sudden power failure.

As I stated earlier, I can't go into my bios with the HDD connected...

Then consider a replacement of your HDD or a PCB replacement if that HDD contains some of your valuable data.
