New hard drive installed, not found in BIOS, Disk Management, or Seatools

I've purchased a new SSHD from newegg.com
Seagate 2TB ST2000DX001
Installed with SATA cable and power supply, I have followed everything in this guide: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265764-32-guide-installed-disk-system
I have still have had no getting the hard drive to be discovered/recognized. When the drive first was powered on it was, noticeably noisy I don't know if that is a clue. I don't want to claim this thing as DOA until I hear a second opinion, if anyone has any other ideas or clues that could help me? Thank you for taking the time to read this post and all if any help is appreciated.

  1. Hard drives should not make noise. I would return it.

Well I always thought the disk spinning was reasonable but now that I take my headset off and listen I think it may have gotten louder, hopefully newegg won't be difficult to get it returned I kept a majority of the packing except for the box.
