Should I switch from AMD to Intel?

Hi all,
I've been debating an never ending war within my mind for quite some time now.
I have a current build with an AMD FX-6300, and I love it to death, I really do. However my mind has constantly been wondering "what if I had gone with Intel?". Pretty much I'm concerned about how "futureproof" and "underpowered" my current system is. I primarily use my PC for gaming, light video editing and occasional streaming. I really need some opinions here. Below are my current system specs.

CPU- AMD FX-6300 with Corsair H100i
GPU- MSI Radeon R9 290x with NZXT Kraken G10
Mobo- ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
SSD- Samsung EVO 250GB
HDD- WD 1TB Blue
PSU- Corsair HX750 Gold Certified
Case- Corsair Obsidian 650D

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

    Warning: Poetry douchebagness ahead!!!

Yonder, with eyes that tears, not distance, dim,
With ears the wide world's thickness cannot daunt,
We see tumultuous miseries that haunt
The night's dead watches, hear the battle hymn
Of ruin shrieking through the music grim,
Where the red spectre straddles, long and gaunt,
Spitting across the seas his hideous taunt
At those who nurse at home the unwounded limb.

What shall we say, who, drawing indolent breath,
Mark the quick pant of those who, full of hate,
Drive home the steel or loose the shrieking shell,
Heroes or Huns, who smite the grin of death
And laugh or curse beneath the blows of fate,
Swept madly to the thudding heart of hell?

    II.
O peace, be still! Let no drear whirlwind sweep
Our souls about the vault, that groans or yells
In travail of the brood of Fear, and swells
Stupendous with new monsters of the deep.
This is no day to wring the hands and weep,
No hour for hopeless tolling and clash of bells.
Faith is no faith if god or demon quells
One hope or drugs it to uneasy sleep.

What you have shed man's blood for, fight for still
    In world-wide conflict, joining hand with hand;
Hate fear and hatred and the seed thereof,
And, since you have struck for Freedom, do her will
And smash the barriers parting land from land,
    Unfaltering armies of immortal love.

  3. Sorry guys, my internet did some weird stuffz and I got DC. I updated my thread.

It doen't worth it in my opinion...

If you are not satisfied with the perfomance, you could update to FX8350
  5. Intel Is Always Superior To AMD ... But AMD Is Economic And Wallet Friendly ... That Said

Go Intel If Ur Wallet Allows U
  6. Yout mother board doesn't support Intel (from what I just saw on the internet)
I dont think it is worth it to change your motherboard and CPU just so you can say "Hey I have an Intel"
If you aren't satisfied with FX6300 go as suggested to FX8350
  7. I too was going through the same thought process. I built a gaming rig based around an FX6300. At first I was dead set on using AMD to run BF4 on ultra at playable frame rates. I did a ton of research and gathered that it could be done with an FX6300 and an R9 270x at minimum. I was wrong. It ran ultra 1080p at about 32 fps. Not playable to me especially in multiplayer. So after upgrading to a GTX 770 it had to run better right? It did, but not by much. My CPU and motherboard were the culprits. I switched to an MSI Z87M-G43 and an i5-4670K and haven't looked back. I could have upgraded to an FX8350, but for $30 more I went with a 4670K. It now performs amazingly. Much smoother graphics, faster boot into Windows, and an overall snappier feel are the results. Originally it would have cost me just an extra $240. Well worth the initial investment. Now I have a bunch of AMD parts I'm going to lose a lot of money on.

Send them to me and they shall be much used. You'll pocket good will in the process, and help a man with a office computer.

Go with intel if money allows. You need a new mobo though.
  9. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you asked for the free parts first T>T

You want your own special badge don't you?? :D

If upgrading would the only thing i would do is upgrading the cpu to a fx 8350 and overclock it,the rest of your hardware supports that.
Did you already overclock that fx 6300? Did that make much difference at all? If not is your cpu not a bottleneck.

Yes, my CPU is OC'd to 4.70 GHz
  12. But does that help or doesn't it make a difference?

Yes, but not really a huge improvement.
  14. I had a choice of going AMD or Intel and I went Intel and I don't regret it. It is pure matter of choice. To my own taste Intel is better, but some people think differently.
