and 3 of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103077

and today i found out that my aftermarket cpu cooler wont fit. Im not planning on overclocking, should i get another cpu cooler or just stay with the stock cooler my cpu came with?

More about stay stock cpu cooler aftermarket
  1. Try an H80i, it's very small.
  2. If you are using it for gaming or other CPU intensive programs (video editors, photo editors, etc.) then definitely yes. Otherwise for daily tasks, you probably won't need to.
  3. yea im building my rig strictly for gaming, thought the cpu cooler i had would fit, but it dont fit. the guys building my PC and my pc friends i asked pretty much said i should be fine with the stock cooler.

Knowing that im not overclocking at all would a aftermarket cpu cooler make that much of a difference?

Give the stock cooler a try. Some people say it's noisy, others say it's OK. If you find it noisy, get an aftermarket cooler.
  5. But the noise is not my biggest concern. my biggest concern is frying the cpu and overheating it

The stock cooler is designed and tested to work as long as you don't overclock. I've had coolers fail, but never a stock one.
