Help with Overclocking? What else can I do?

Hi!

I'm a complete overclocking noob. Now, I've got a Asrock motherboard (G41 chipset.)

From my knowledge, these are horrible overclockers. However, it came with an "OC Tuner" program on my PC. I have got no idea what to do aside from messing with the frequencies.

All I've done so far is bumped up my CPU and PCI frequency to the point right before it crashes. Is there anything else in the program I can do? There is a voltage control section and in it there are these options:

DRAM Voltage
NB Voltage
VTT Voltage
GTLRef Voltage

Can I mess with any of those to get higher performance?

Thanks!

  1. Overclocking is not a task for a noob. Please study articles on OC from different forums and then when you feel comfortable, attempt changes to parameters and overclock confidently.

Instead of redirecting me to somewhere else, seeing as your have some knowledge in overclocking just maybe you could actually help, but nah.

    What a great help, thanks.

OOPS! Sorry, I accidently selected you as best answer. If you can, mind unselecting it? (I see you're a mod)

I do not have a stock cooler, I use a Cooler Master Hyper N520.

    My specs are as follows:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHz (currently running at like 2.75 from messing with CPU Frequency, no voltages_
    4GB DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600u RAM
    Asrock G41C-GS LGA775 DDR3 Motherboard (Chipset G41)
EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 460 EE 1GB GDDR5

    Cheers!
