i would say upgrade to an amd fx 8350 (that way you can keep the same motherboard. and for the 280x you would want at least a 600watt psu with an 80+bronze rating on it
  2. oh and 8gb of ram would be your best bet (just buy another stick of the stuff you already have and you will be golden (make sure it is identical)
  3. you can get 7970ghz edition or 280x... that graphic has 3072mb of vram running at 384bits will be nice. you will need a oc in your cpu to get the maximum performance for that card. with original clock you will get bootlenecks...

I have already purchased FX-6300, as fx 8350 tend to consume lot of power.. i will surely upgrade 1 more identical ram, plzzz suggest a best budget graphic card....
  5. What is your budget? I can give you a card from both amd side and nvidia side, but knowing what your budget is would be very helpful

the 280x right now can be found for anywhere from $300-350 and will run pretty much any game at 1080p with max settings (aside from games like crysis 3, just turn down the anti-aliasing and you will be fine

the 760 is a bit cheaper, but not as fast, and the r9-270x is a bit cheaper than the 760 (nvidia, sorry) but is also faster than it

    ... thx for prompt reply,
my budget is around $250-$300...as you recomended " R9 270x is cheaper+better than gtx 760" - please confirm if its correct, also BEST available card for R9 270x
  7. best price:performance 270x http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127761
best 280x...well i looked and they have gone way up for some reason :/
    best 760 http://www.shopbot.ca/pp-asus-nvidia-geforce-gtx-760-gtx760-dc2oc-2gd5-asus-price-433403.html
  8. 270x is indeed faster by about 5% than the 760, though with the ones i linked, they are pretty much the same performance, but the 760 will be slightly better in terms of temperature and noise
  9. UGH I'm sorry, i got the speeds backwards. The 760 is marginally faster than the 270x, but as you see, it is also like $50 more

..hummm i think since its a one time purchase for next 3-4 yrs i would rather go for mid-range high end card, R9 280x gpu... its expensive but also has better shaders units, mem speed, 3 gb ram, better texture units...
Please tel me if R9 280x is compatible with my rig -

    - CPU AMD 3.5ghz AM3+ FX-6300
    - Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
    - Kingston HyperX Blu ddr3 4gb
    - Corsair VS650 650 Watt
    - Segate 1 TB HDD & 500GB HDD
    - Cooler Master HAF 912 Transparent
    (2x120mm front fan,120mm side & 120mm back fan)

Also suggest me 3 BEST availabe graphic for R9 280x with current price.
  11. The 280x is indeed compatable with your rig if you can find one for cheap. The price of them seems to have gone up recently. Generally they will all be good as long as they do not have the stock cooler on the reference models (that really gay plastic black and red new amd shroud). so look for ones that have an open design (not one single fan) Good brands are asus direct cu ii, Msi gaming, toxic, xfx, and umm one other one was good. They will all be roughly the same performance

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121770 is the nvidia equivalent, and this one is cheaper than any 280x right now (they all seem to be up around 450-500 for some reason
  12. http://www.shopbot.ca/pp-msi-geforce-gtx-780-gaming-n780-tf-3gd5oc-msi-price-434245.html
is the card you want if you want to blow your budget and really not have to upgrade again for 3 years or so
  13. The best thing you can really do is go into google, type in the base name of the card you are looking for, find a few different cards of different levels (like a 770 AND a 280x, then type in something like 280x vs 770 benchmark. This will tell you the relative performance of each card, and then only price becomes something that you need to look around to find one at the right price
