Computer crashes when changing display fast. Such as alt tabbing from a game after 5 min or after 5 hours. Only way to get it back on is to pull the power plug or wait 10 min. Also GPU fans spin up fast i have a Evga 770 SC acx cooling. I have been watching temps and it never gets above 75 C. Please help guys!

  1. This could be alot of things you will just have to try everything i can think of.
Post your specs so we know what we are working with?
Do you know when this started happening?
Did you install a program when it started?
Are you overclocking ram,cpu or gpu ?
    What is your hdd/ssd config?
Is your hdd making noises could it possibly be dieing?
-Install all latest drivers for your chipset,GPU,windows updates.
-eliminate no essential programs that are not needed to remove some load from the cpu.
-Remove any overclocks from cpu and or gpu and ram.
-Perform virus scan with at least 2 different virus scanners
-make sure your ram timing are correct.
  2. Cpu- AMD 8350
Graphics card - Evga 770 Sc acx cooling
    16GB (8GBx2) DDR3/1600M
800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply
    1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD

It started when i got the pc a few months ago, happened right away.
I am not overclocking anything unless my gpu was overclocked from the start since is a super clocked and i dont know how to turn that down i am a noob :(.
My hardrive makes no noice so i dont think it is a problem with that
all drivers are up to date
i crashed sometimes after doing nothing like play kerbal space program. It typically happens with my display changes IE answering skype call or loading a new level.
As for virus i am clean.
finally how would i go about making sure my ram is timing correctly.
  3. You can change you ram timings in your bios. but since you haven't ocd or messed with anything it should be fine.
Sounds like it might be hardware is there any way you could get hold of another gpu and test if the prob continues so we can eliminate the gpu as the problem?
Since you only got the pc a few months ago it will be easy to get parts replaced on warranty if needed.
  4. I have heard that the EVGA 770 SC had problems being to overclocked out of the box and i was not sure how to try and underclock my GPU. Sadly i can't get a GPU to try and lastly if i had a problem i would have to ship the whole thing back to Cyberpower pc and that process can take 20 days. Not something i want to do.
  5. Also i was not clear it happens when i am in game like full screen and then i quick change display, such as alt tabing.

Ok so under clocking is something that we can easily try i need you to download evga precision x this is an awesome program for overclocking but can be used to under clock as well. All i want you to do is start the program and move the gpu clock offset slider to negative 100 mhz and click apply tell me if this stops the problems you are having. In witch case you should send it back!
  8. Nope it still crashed but this time the crashes was different the gpu fans did no spin up and i did not have to pull the power plug to reset it. Here are some of the crash info in the event viewer

A timeout (30000 milliseconds) was reached while waiting for a transaction response from the ShellHWDetection service.

Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0
lastly this warning has been coming up a lot in the event viewer
The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN_GENERIC&PROD_MINI_SD_READER&REV_1.06#058F63776378&4#.

    http://computerstepbystep.com/shell_hardware_detection_service.html
Check this link i want you to go to your shell hardware detection service and disable this and tell me if your still having the same problem?
And by the way i don't think this prob has anything to do with your hardware so you can get rid of your underclock it is most defiantly a driver problem. Most likely related to a usb device like flash drive or something.
  11. I still crashed here were the two things said in the event viewer

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN_GENERIC&PROD_MINI_SD_READER&REV_1.06#058F63776378&4#.

The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service depends on the Shell Hardware Detection service which failed to start because of the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Ok. re enable shell hardware detection and follow this video tutorial to remove old usb device drivers that may be conflicting and causing the problem... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVdjIwu5Eoo
  13. Followed the instructions and still getting the same crash :(

This time i watched my temps of my gpu and it never went over 60 C

Dam i was sure that was it it!! Im all out of ideas tho in the crash report it says its a driver either for usb storage or mini sd reader. In witch case deleting the driver would have fixed it. Do u have any usb devices plugged into your machine besides the mouse and keyboard? you know what. It may even be your keyboard try another one if you got a spare one. Ive had problems before where usb devises can completely brick a pc for no apparent reason. Remove it and the pc works perfectly. Its worth a try.
  15. I just got a new keyboard and mouse i will try unplugging everthing else!
  16. Also i noticed it saying AMD fuel service has crashed? does this help?
  17. Thats strange amd fuel is related to amd catalyst control center im not sure what it does but your running nvidia so im going to get you to delete all display drivers it looks like you might have AMD drivers installed simultaneously. Im going to get you to do a fresh driver install of your nvidia drivers first i want you to delete all previous ones. So here is what to do..
    -Download and install driver sweeper
-Run driver sweeper and click on the checks that say ATI- Display and Nvidia display
-Click Analise then click clean and reboot your system
-Dont stress but your display will be lo res till you install your drivers again
-Go on the nvidia website and download the latest drivers for your gpu here at http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
-Install the drivers and see how it goes..
  18. it still crashes :(
  19. It seems to crash a lot when i am playing battlefeild alt tab and answer skype but no always
  20. i experienced altab-crash before when i had an outdated windows and drivers...
  21. i have all new drivers so it could be my windows?
  22. My crashes have been replaced with a new type of crash. I now get black screen and then my computer turns back on this is still the only error The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN_GENERIC&PROD_MINI_SD_READER&REV_1.06#058F63776378&4#.
  23. outdated windows/corrupted windows
reformat your pc and make sure get a genuine copy of windows so you can update it
  24. Its not my windows after testing this i think it could be a problem with my gpu i heard that it could be in the wrong pci spot but i am not sure?

Ur gpu usually goes in the top pci-e slot marked 16x. But if you give me you motherboard make i can find a picture and double check..

Yes it defiantly goes in the top pcie 16x slot!
Do you have it fitted here?
  28. I had it built by a company. I was playing battlfeild 4 when i noticed i hover around 61-65 C and had one peak at 74 C this seemed hot. Could that be the problem i am trying to also find someone with a power supply so i can rule that out
  29. Odd thing is when i overclock or underclock my gpu my crash is a turn off and then turn back on but when there is nothing done to the GPU the crash involves it black screening the last thing repeating repeating over and over ( right ri ri ri ri ri) all fans full ramp and lastly only way to reset is a hard reset IE pulling the power cord.
