CPU- Need one for under 150$ for MINECRAFT, nothing else.

VideoCard-Geforce GT 630

Ram-8Gigs 1600mhz

Storage-500Gigs 7200rpm

Power Supply-430watt

Motherboard-Forgot the name of it. Feel free to suggest a good motherboard

I would be willing to spend 100$ max for a motherboard.

Take your time. Just remember that I need it to be able to run minecraft 60+ frames recording(and)not recording.

Please note that with that GPU you will probably be limited to 30fps while recording, not that really matters anyway.

Correct, and I am assuming he specified Minecraft due to it's CPU intensiveness

I meant the best for minecraft. I saw that intels are really good on minecraft, but I needed to get more information on this topic. amd or intel. I am planning to get a better gpu.

Get an i3 if $150 is your MAX budget, but to be honest I'd get an i5 just so you don't have to upgrade in the future.

Not sure about US prices but...

AMD FX 6300
Intel i5 3570k/4670k

Honestly, I doubt you'd hold 60 FPS with that GPU, it's pretty poor.

At that pricepoint you'd be better off with a FX 6300 since you're planning to record too, you'd drop less frames.

Read the buyer's guide before you buy an i3.

The main problem I have is which should I go with? An amd cpu, or a intel cpu. Amd cpu is good, but then when I see videos i3, it looks way smoother. (I watch variety of these type of cpu videos.) With my pc im planning to record minecraft, cubeworld, half life 2 mods(Garrys Mod, The hidden, Trouble in Terrorist Town). I ask of one thing from you guys. AMD or Intel.

Definitely Intel, and a quad core i5 if possible, is scores a lot better

At the pricepoint of an i3, I believe you should get an FX 6300. The i3 has better single-threaded performance but the FX has more cores to utilise for things like recording.

The intel CPU I would get is an i5 4670k or above, below that it seems that the AMD has the price/performance. If you really are looking to play just those games that you listed (single-threaded older games) then the i3 would be fine. For recording, not sure, I believe you'd be better off with an FX 6300.

If you were to get a 6300 you'd get similar frames to me in minecraft (since you're getting a similar graphics card), so around 90-150. Average probably 120 (maxed settings, 16x AF etc..) and I haven't even overclocked yet. I suspect with an i3 you may get similar or more, but it would drop more frames when you start to record.

i believe minecraft runs on single core... so the i3 will beat the amd here... windows task manager might show a load on all cores but that's jsut some windows stuff... - i saw minecraft load chunks faster on a wolfdale e7500 @ 3ghz than a q6700 @ 3ghz in the same system - enough said. - the only thing i don't know what has changed regarding cpu in the 1.7.2 update... but im prettysure not much

FX 6300 > i3

Here's why:

You're going to record. FRAPS and other programs use a lot of resources to do that, more resources than you will have with an i3 if you're running minecraft or HL2. If you get the 6300, you could likely run 4 instances of minecraft and record one or two of them at once without any dropped frames. You couldn't do that on the i3, even with a top end GPU.

I would assume that you're going to struggle playing with that APU at 60 FPS, let alone recording, especially without a dedicated GPU. I'm confused as to why you're getting a sound card and not a dedicated GPU.

Everything else seems fine to me, except I'd go for a seagate barracuda 1tb instead of that WD Blue.

EDIT: The APU seems to be good enough, my bad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crI3bz5ghRc Seems to dip once in a while though.

if youre still thinking about the i3 and fx6300 - get a 6350 unless youre overclocking to the max... since then the 2 cpus will be almost the same, and also what i said about single thread performance for minecraft won't help you with much else - i would never recommend the i3 over the fx for the life of me - 2 cores vs 6? there's nothing to talk about, the apu's are fine for most scenarios but when the internal gpu is being taxed the cpu gets less power and resources or so i hear... check "tek syndicate" on youtube - they had awesome budget build videos with both the 6 core and apu's and the legendary 8350 vs i5/i7 "series" :D
the i3 might "cut it" for a while but in a year you will most likely want to replace it where as the 6 core just might become better as games get more and more multithreaded

Get a FX 6300 It is good for Multi Tasking that's why it has 6 cores and also if you download optifine for minecraft it enables two cores to be used on Minecraft and farther render distance higher quality... etc..

No, standard sound is just fine. An extra sound card is basically a luxury, not necessary for the majority of people. I'd use the money from the sound card for a decent GPU to pair up with that APU.

So glad I know that now. I almost made the mistake of buying a not needed sound card.

games don't really take advantage of the tech in advanced soundcards - but do not underestimate them,
i used a soundblaster x-fi 5.1 pro usb for half a year and i just sold it while im getting my new build - will buy a newer soundblaster model again later, i had it connected to my edifier r2800 speakers via optical out and trust me - the onboard sound i use now is garbage in comparison,
quieter and less clear ... kindof blurry in comparison - so you need a decent soundcard if you enjoy quality music but for gaming... i'd say don't bother - however they do tend to provide a better surround feel in games as well... i noticed a difference even in minecraft - my suggestion is - buy one later if you can't afford it all at once ... you can always add the soundcard to the build

There are other priorities when you're on a budget, things that will improve performance (e.g. dedicated GPU). As I said, an additional sound card is basically a luxury when you're on a budget. Maybe it would be better to get one later on.

Sounds (haha, pun) like it might be your speakers/headset, onboard sound tends to be just fine unless you're an audiophile. I guess a very budget board could be bad too.

Yeah I bought a Newegg combo that had $50 off by getting it in combo 4x2 gb 1333 mhz ram the mobo only has 1 pcie 2 the cases built in psu doesn't have a pcie connector for graphics and the case is flimsy plastic. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?I... The ram wasn't that expensive back than. After rebates I only payed about $270

"What's the point"? He needs to run @ 60FPS both recording and not recording. I'm sure it would be nice to run with some mods too.

Why wouldn't you want more performance?

I don't reach 200 on my rig.

Average 110-130ish. If I look into the sky and stand still sure, but that's no way to test anything.

And I lose FPS when I turn AF down or off   Maybe my GPU goes to sleep.

EDIT: I often play Full HD flash videos in the background which reduces performance. It locks the clocks and performance.

Probably.

I've also seen other people on Youtube or whatever spouting that they get 250-400. And maybe they do, but all it's good for is their e-peen.

I was considering getting optifine but I honestly don't see the point. I usually slap vsync on anyway.

1360x768. Honestly, I've played on 1920x1080 and I've only seen increases in FPS instead of decreases. No idea what's going on. I've heard things about the GPU being stuck in 2D clocks instead of 3D clocks if it's not pushed hard enough, who knows.

Gonna get myself a full HD monitor soon, see what's happening. Most of my GPU is going to waste at this res. :p
