Choose ‘Switch To’ to activate the busy program and correct the problem

Does anyone know what the following message is about and how to fix it?

"This Action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose ‘Switch To’ to activate the busy program and correct the problem."

When I do hit the 'Switch To' button the Start Menu for windows comes up.

No clue whatsoever I've absolutely no idea what program is causing the window to pop up
  3. Have a look in Task Manager and see if there is any running process that you don't recognize. Of course, this means you need to be familiar with that screen.

How many running processes do you have?

If you have more than about forty then you should take a look at

    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1860438/reduce-number-programs-run-start-simple-steps.html

This will help you to streamline your system a little and may help you catch the culprit who is playing games with your system.

    Do you have virus protection?

    83 processes

Looked at the optimization process and made the changes, have not yet re-booted the system, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Yes I have Avira, any suggestions for firewall?
  5. Personally I don't use either.

I am of the opinion that only sick people should take medicine.

And all the people I know who take lots of tablets seem to get ill a lot.

And the people that don't, don't.

However, people seem to need to feel that they have some kind of security blanket and anti-virus software writers get rich.

    Sick people and doctors.

    But I digress.

I can't help with advice on what medicine to take but a good diet and regular exercise is the best way to stay healthy.

It's like that with people too.:)

Let me know if your problem persists, Good luck.

How do I go about creating a back up so that I too can have my system up and running in 12 - 30 mins?
  7. You need a back-up utility such as Acronis.

Windows provides a back-up utility. Explore that for a bit and see what you think.

What is the situation regarding your other problem?

PC loaded up faster as you said and at the time of start up only 38 processes were running now at 59. Have yet to see the pop up but it doesn't happen very frequently just wanted to be proactive and nip any problems in the bud especially seeing as I never knew the root cause

You cut the list by 24 processes? Impressive.

Hopefully, you uninstalled the root cause. Fingers crossed. :)
