Technically extreme RAM is not upgradeable because they need to be perfectly matching to achieve the high speed. So if you want the best performance, purchase the complete kit you want. Otherwise if you use multiple kits, the rated specifications are not guaranteed.
What performance? I have now in my build 2GB + 2GB + 4GB +8GB Corsair and g.skill. All working well. Im looking upgrade for 32GB so what is best for me? 4 8GB corsair because I have one or something else? Just wondering.
My 1600MHz 126.96.36.199 mix kit works fine 1866MHz.
So must ask what g.skill memory kit gives better performance cheaper price? This did cost under 100 And did get more memory my 2 build X-58 too. One 4GB stick did not fit in yet.
This build is X-79 Gigabyte + 3930k.
Maybe this helps OP maker too.
Sorry I did "loan" tread
