  1. You need 4 memory sticks for X-79 build. It do have Quad memory controller.

Just look regular memory like this

Jut buy two. Or look 4*memory set. like this.

  2. Hey ! thx for reply.

for the ram i want to start with less but a realy good one then upgrade later until i reach 64gb. i try to put the most money on non-upgreadable parts :-/
  3. Technically extreme RAM is not upgradeable because they need to be perfectly matching to achieve the high speed. So if you want the best performance, purchase the complete kit you want. Otherwise if you use multiple kits, the rated specifications are not guaranteed.

What performance? I have now in my build 2GB + 2GB + 4GB +8GB Corsair and g.skill. All working well. Im looking upgrade for 32GB so what is best for me? 4 8GB corsair because I have one or something else? Just wondering.
My 1600MHz 9.9.9.24 mix kit works fine 1866MHz.
So must ask what g.skill memory kit gives better performance cheaper price? This did cost under 100 And did get more memory my 2 build X-58 too. One 4GB stick did not fit in yet.
    This build is X-79 Gigabyte + 3930k.

Maybe this helps OP maker too.
Sorry I did "loan" tread :)
  5. Some times mix matching can work, but for most builders that want guaranteed performance, it is best to use a single kit of RAM. It can be a hassle if you purchase 2-3 different types of RAM, then find out you have to run them at DDR3-1333 when you expected them to run at DDR3-1866. To avoid this problem, G.Skill sells complete kits that are pre-matched, tested, and guaranteed to work at the rated specifications.

For the X79 platform, here are some perfect 32GB kits for optimal performance:

  6. Thanks for you G.skill support. Too much price for poor biker like me.
    Looks good 2133MHz Cl9 memory.

316 € is bit too much for 32GB memory .IMO :)
    http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/32GB-G-Skill-RipJawsZ-DDR3-2133-DIMM-CL9-Quad-Kit_801396.html

Price $ and € are just out there. 250 $ Is right price.
1€ is now 1.35 $ and couple days ago it was 1.38! :D
  7. Memory price can also go up and down, in the future you may even see it go up once DDR3 becomes more rare. Then you will think the current price is cheap :D

    Thank you

  8. Year ago they was cheap. 43€ for 8GB 1600MHz G.skill ares.
Well lets just buy new DDR 4 mobo then :)
My bikes rear tyre costs about same 5-6000km and it is done.
So that is more fun than buy over 300 € memory :D

Maybe they are now more expensive. Did buy 20 that price when they was cheap. I think I have 7 left . I like to do burn outs. 100 speed and then just give it enough gas. Nothing is better than that.
(what u can do pants on) :ouch:
