CoreTemp freezes my new system? Worked before, reinstalled Windows 8, doesn't open, crashes system.

I know it's compatible but it won't work anymore, I open the program and my PC slows down incredibly until my screen freezes and I can't even go back to the Windows 8 start screen.

Any ideas?

The latest one, I reinstalled it twice now. It works right after installation but if I browse for a while and open it, it WILL crash the system, it happened four times and I had to restart after each.

Have you seen this thread on the coretemp forum? Someone had a similar problem and discovered that it was the firewall program 'Outpost Firewall'. Do you have a firewall installed besides the one that comes with Windows?

Also, are there any new programs that you installed recently that were not on the old install of Windows?

I don't think so, the only thing different is a new SSD. Anyway, I've found that CPUID HW Monitor works much better and doesn't crash at all, so I'll stick to that, but it's strange that it kept crashing.
