MSI-7280 and Galaxy NVidia GeForce GT 610 compatible?

Does the MSI-7280 motherboard work with the Galaxy NVidia GeForce GT 610 graphics card? I can't get the display out of 16-bit color, 800x600 resolution under Windows 7. In Windows XP, I couldn't get out of 4-bit color, 640x(something), resolution. None of the graphics card drivers fixed the issue. Right now, under Win7, I'm getting the Code 38 issue in the Device Manager for the GT 610. In Win XP, I kept getting Code 12, and sometimes Code 18. My Monitor's info, and my card's info, doesn't show up when you go to the Screen Resolution menu on the desktop, either. It just shows up as "<unavailable>" and "<n/a>" in the information sections. *Sigh*

It looks like I'm going to have to return this card. And my last card, back when I had this computer working years ago (I use a laptop currently) blew up in the first 6 months of use. Oof.

  1. It doesn't look like they are compatable. But have you updated the bios, drivers(chipset, video ect.).
