Graphics Card Core Clock acting weird even without Overclocking.

Is this normal?

As you can see above, I didn't overclocked my GPU. But on load, my graphics card automatically overclocks by itself to 1201.9mhz.
Is a Gainward GTX 660 (non-golden edition).
[N]ightz Ultimate GTX 660 is a driver modded by me. (But does driver overclocks the graphics card?)

Any solution to this? Is getting annoying, any games I tries like StarCraft II, Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, Assassin's Creed 3 etc. I've been getting random black screen freezes. I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

  1. I would go backand install the proper driver and try that and see if the problem persists ( Doubtful ). AS for the auto OCing, that isn't unusual and shouldn't be an issue. Drivers are not meant to be modded.

I've rolled back to the latest Nvidia Official drivers. But issue still remain, does this means I have to underclock my graphics card each time before playing any games?
  3. No. The clock speed only goes up as needed. If you have another Video Card, I would try that.
