Random BSOD and crashes while gaming

Hi there, certain games like GTA IV and now Metro Last Light and Xcom Enemy unknown have been crashing for me lately. And by lately I mean since I purchased them. I have a suspicion that it's Windows 8.

My specs are:
i7 2600k 3.4
ASrock p67 pro 3
16 gb ram
Windows 8 64 bit
Nvidia Geforce gtx 660 ti. I had read that DX 11 games can be from overlcocked video cards, but using the Asus software that came with my card I lowered the clock speeds to what is required (or so I think anyway, new to tweaking)

My most recent error in the event viewer is: Faulting application name: MetroLL.exe, version:, time stamp: 0x5194eb76
Faulting module name: nvwgf2um.dll, version:, time stamp: 0x518fe653

I ran updates to the latest version of drivers possible, also using the Driver Reviver tool and straight from Nvidia for the gpu drivers

--Update. After a reformat and installation of Windows 8 along with a bios update on my mobo, I have not received a BSOD again, however I haven't had a chance to test my games yet.

If you still get bsod. try running the games as administrator and increase priority before playing to high from task manager.
