id go an intel cpu such as the i5 3570k with a 1155 mobo such as the extreme4
and if you want to save some money, 120gb ssd is plenty, a 670 is almost as powerful as a 680 (im talkin 2-5fps) and when u overclock the 670 it smashes a 680, you dont need that psu. get a 650 or a 750w psu instead. that will be enough for sli 670 and 680 aswell. and i wouldnt go with the h100i. id get the 212 evo and put exhaust fans at the top of the case. theres my 0.02c

You really only need a 550 - 600 watt power supply for that build .

I have a gigabyte radeon graphics card with the 3 fan windforce cooler . Its running so cool I have it turned down to 25% fan speed and it is very very quiet and still cooler than the reference design

Is an Intel i5 3570k faster than an Fx-8350?
Is there a maxium as to how much you can overclock the i5?

The AMD 8 cores are performing really well in newer DX11 game engines . Often smashing all the socket 1155 intels when you select high resolutions and image settings . The FX is a better choice for the next couple of years IMO
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8Sekdb-IE&list=UUNovoA...

Crysis is usually a good indicator where other games will be in a couple of years time
http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?/topic/36276-...
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28031659-Crysis-3-CPU-...
and besides the intel you are suggesting is obsolete in 2 months time , while the AMD boards and socket stay currect for 2 more years

A 128 gig SSD fills up fast . Id have used a larger one with some hindsight .

The i5 3570k is a quad core cpu. So 4 physical cores

3570K is more powerful, cheaper, and runs cooler. There isnt really a limit to cpu overclocking until you burn out your chip lol. Keep those temps down and you will overclock like a beast with a 3570k. The hyper 212 evo will allow for an ok overclock but you will need to spend heaps more for a better result as the 212 evo is a really good cooler for the price. Also, you will not get any bottlenecks on games with a stock 3570k. an i3 3220 is enough for gaming really, but id go for the i5 for that extra performance and who knows, a new cpu intensive game might come out at any time! Basically an i5 3570k will perform the exact same as a i7 3770k. I prefer the i7 for video rendering because it has hyperthreading (not really used in games at all), but its over $100 more. So i would definately go for the 3570k for your build as its just a gaming pc. Also just to hope you know, your motherboard has to fit the cpu. So you will need an lga1155 motherboard for those cpus. Amd need socket am3 or something.

Just adding, a nice cheap lga 1155 motherboard is the asrock z77 extreme4. all the features you need, looks nice, socket 1155, atx, and supports sli.
