Analysts doubt MS breakup likely
The general consensus among professional court watchers seems to be that Microsoft Corp. will probably win the current appeal. Even then, however, Microsoft will not be entirely clear of danger as the 19 US states who have joined the case could conceivably then take the matter to the Supreme Court. The US Justice Department, according to analysts, would likely seek some sort of settlement that would fall short of the breakup.
