An Interview With Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel

If your mother ever said that playing video games would never get you anywhere, she obviously has never met any professional gamers. Let me introduce Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, one of the "Masters of the Game" as Time Magazine described him in their May issue. So how does a Kansas native make it onto CNN or get more airtime than most bands on MTV? Win, and win big.

Johnathan travels all over the world to play video games.
He started playing Quake III in tournaments where he won his first title. He stayed with the game for about two years before moving on to other games such as Unreal Tournament 2003 and Doom 3. With his victory in the Cyberathlete Professional League summer championships in Dallas (CPL) this year, he not only won $15,000 but also the title of World Champion in his fifth gaming title.
In short, Johnathan is the Michael Jordon of computer gaming, but with a better record.
