AMD Unveils Two Opteron Chips
Advanced Micro Devices unveiled Tuesday two additional chips within its family of 64-bit Opteron server processors. "Model 846 is designed for servers with four or eight processors, while model 146 is built for single-processor workstations or servers. Both chips operate at 2GHz, and like the rest of the Opteron product line, support 32-bit and 64-bit applications, officials with the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based, company said."
