AMD releases June ATI driver package
AMD has released version 7.6 of its Catalyst graphics card driver. The Windows package promises performance improvements for the HD 2900 XT card under Windows Vista – up 42% more speed Half-Life 2 : Episode 1 with HDR+AA enabled and up to 16% more performance in Dark Messiah : Might and Magic with HDR enabled.
The new driver also resolves a range of problems and enables users of analog CRT displays to configure resolutions of 1680 x 1050, 1800 x 1440, 1920 x 1080 and 1920 x 1200.
The updated Catalyst 7.6 for Linux (version 8.38.6) now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
All new drivers can be downloaded from AMD’s website at ati.amd.com.
