AMD Opteron launch damaged by motherboard shortage
The Inquirer are reporting that many resellers have made contact with them regarding the fact that, although AMD have supplied plenty of Opteron processors, there simply aren't enough motherboards being delivered to meet the demand. "Resellers from North America, from Europe and from Asia have all written to the INQUIRER in the last week to complain of a scarcity of third party boards for the top-end 64-bit chips. . This seems quite ironic, considering the amount of motherboard manufacturers around at this point in time, and the exact reasons for these delays are as yet unknown. Hopefully this issue is rectified in the near future.
