AMD to launch 7 series chipsets in H2 07
AMD has scheduled to release its new 7 series chipsets in the second half of 2007, according to sources familiar with AMD’s plans.The 7 series chipsets will introduce support for HyperTransport 3.0 and will include the high-end RD790 which will adopt PCI Express 2.0, mainstream RX780, and two models with integrated graphics (IGP) ; the RS740 which supports DirectX 9, and RS780 which will add support for DirectX 10 and AMD’s UVD (Universal Video Decoder) technology, according the the sources.
