AMD intros Mobile Athlon 64 3700+
Sunnyvale (CA) - AMD expands its processor lineup for notebooks. The 3700+ model is the new flagship model for desktop replacement devices.
The new 64-bit processor is the fifth version in the current product series, adding to the existing 2800+, 3000+, 3200+ and 3400+. The 3700+ is built in 90 nm, is clocked with 2.4 GHz, comes with 1 MByte L2 cache and can be combined with single-channel DDR1 up to 400 MHz.
The first notebook available with the new processor is offered by Gateway. The 7426GX was announced this Monday and is available in US retail only for about $1550. AMD sells the processor in 1000 unit quantities for $336.
