AMD confirms Corvette plans
AMD confirmed plans to release low power mobile versions of its Athlon and Duron processors in the fourth quarter of this year, according to The Register .
Code-named Corvette, the mobile Athlon, produced with .18 micron technology, will be released in speeds of 650MHz, 700MHz, 8xx and 9xx, will include integrated full-speed level-two cache on the die with a 200MHz S2K interface, and allow 64-bit data and eight-bit ECC. The 600MHz and 650MHz mobile Duron chips will be aimed at the low-end notebook market between $1,000 and $2,000.
