AMD chip targets data security
AMD today unveiled its latest Alchemy embedded processor, this one pitched at network security applications. Based on the existing Alchemy Au1500, the Au1550 integrates an IPsec- and SSL-standard VPN packet processor in hardware, connected to a true random number generator.
