AMD board appoints CEO Ruiz as chairman elect
AMD’s board of directors appointed President and Chief Excutive Officer Hector Ruiz as chairman-elect to replace company founder Jerry Sanders. According to AMD, Ruiz is expected to become chairman after the company’s annual meeting on April 29. Ruiz joined AMD in 2000 and became chief executive in 2002. AMD’s current chairman Sanders will serve as chairman emeritus.
