Amazon.com Offers Digital Game Downloads
A brand new casual games download service has officially gone beta at Amazon.com, and to celebrate the occasion Amazon is giving away three PC games for free.
As mentioned at the official Amazon Game Room's blog this morning, over six hundred games have been launched for digital download at a $9.99 or less price point. The roster of games is expected to grow over time, as is the service itself. Three free games are currently offered for a limited time, specifically the relatively well received games "Jewel Quest 2", "The Scruffs", and "Build A Lot."
According to the post, even those who miss out on the giveaway can still take advantage of at least a free trial. "If you miss out on this launch offer, not to worry – every game in our store is available for a free 30-minute trial. We could tell you loads more about the range of games, and all the standard Amazon features you’d expect, but instead we’ll just say this: go play!"
Amazon is requesting feedback from those who use the beta service via a feedback form. Details of any future plans for the service have yet to be revealed, such as the offering of retail PC game products such as those seen on Steam. As of launch, only casual games are offered.
