by - source: Tom's Hardware

Alienware is shipping a new workstation that comes equipped with two AMD Opteron processors and dual PCI Express graphics support based on Nvidia’s SLI technology and nForce Professional chipset. Wrapped in a redesigned, more conservative tower, the MJ-12 7550A can house two Nvidia Quadro FX cards.

A fully optioned dual processor system (dual Opteron 252 2.6 GHz), 4 GByte dual channel DDR memory, a 400 GByte SATA harddrive, a dual-layer DVD burner and one 512 MByte Quadro FX 4400 card is priced slightly above $7000. Entry level workstations with a single 1.6 GHz Opteron processor start at about $2000. (THG)
