Alienware to offer Airgo MIMO wireless cards for some notebooks
Alienware will start offering Airgo’s True MIMO wireless cards on its Aurora m9700 and mALX notebooks. The cards promise users up to double the range of basic 802.11b/g wireless, along with more bandwidth - up to 240 Mb/s.
MIMO, which stands for Multiple Input/Multiple Out, uses multiple antennas to use Multipath propogation to increase range and bandwidth. The Airgo True MIMO wireless cards can be added to the m9700 and mALX notebooks for about $50.
