ADI's SoundMAX Subsystem Picked for 2GHz P4 Boards

Analog Devices is on the Intel bandwagon this with the announcement that its SoundMAX PC audio subsystem is now shipping with Intel's D850MD/D850MV desktop boards to support the new 2GHz P4. ADI's SoundMAX with SPX (Sound Production eXtensions) lives on a PC's motherboard or on a Communications Network Riser (CNR) soundcard, SoundMAX and consists of hardware CODECs with features like hardware sample rate conversion (SRC), 94-dB playback and software speaker equalization (EQ). SoundMAX software includes Windows device drivers and applications that support 3D audio, Microsoft DirectX 8.0, EAX, A3D, voice DLS-2 wavetable, 5.1 virtual theater surround, CNR multichannel output options, and SPX "audio animation" technologies.
