Adaptec Single-Channel RAID Card
RAID's been around for a long, long time, but it seems like a lot of folks didn't have much interest in it until its functionality started to be put into desktop motherboards. Networking pros, however are interested in much higher capacity file transfers (and data density) than Joe Overclocker or Jane Gamer, and in higher speeds. Adaptec's new PCI RAID card isn't all that expensive, but it isn't all that cheap either. The Adaptec SCSI RAID 2110S is a single-channel, low-profile MD2 card that uses a 64-bit/66MHz PCI architecture and a new microprocessor with hardware XOR. It's priced at $499 MSRP and ships with Adaptec's Storage Manager Pro software.
