Adaptec Enters Wireless Market
Adaptec Inc. entered the wireless market Tuesday, introducing five new products for home connectivity. In a separate announcement, D-Link said it would offer a software-based "turbo mode" upgrade, compliments of the TI chipset the company uses.
Adaptec's new product line is based upon the 802.11b standard, and includes five products: a $149.99 cable/DSL router, a $129.99 access point kit, a $69.99 PC Card kit, a $99.99 wireless PCI card, and a $79.99 wireless USB dongle for laptops.
