Actiontec gets Verizon FiOS premises router biz
New York (NY) - Verizon today announced that it has tapped Actiontec Electronics to supply routers to new customers of Verizon’s fiber-based FiOS service.
The company said Actiontec’s model M1424-WR is designed and built to Verizon’s specifications and provides routing of up to 100 Mbps. It is also one of the first products to support coax-based networking via a MoCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) compliant interface.
Wireless clients are also supported via a built-in 802.11g access point and up to four wired Ethernet clients can be connected via a built-in 10/100 switch.
