Acer notebooks edged out by Toshiba in H1

Since Acer replaced Toshiba at the number 3 position in the worldwide notebook-PC rankings in the fourth quarter of last year, the Taiwan vendor seems to have lost some of its competitive edge, slipping to the number 4 spot, behind Toshiba, in the first half of 2006, sources in the Taiwan notebook industry indicated.

However, the sources are more optimistic about Acer’s performance in the second half of this year since Acer’s strongest notebook sales have traditionally been in the latter half of the year.
