On The Road

The n35 seems to have a problem with finding GPS satellites, and depending on atmospheric conditions, where you are and how many bulls you sacrificed to the pagan Gods last night, the signal can be patchy to non-existent far more often than with other GPS units I've seen in my time.
When it does work the journey is relatively smooth, with the software chiming off turns and landmarks through the loud and clear speakers which won't be overcome by engine noise. You can also set the n35 to alert you if you're breaking the speed limit in a particular area.
The map can be viewed in a top-down 2D view or a 3D view with the camera hanging well above and to the rear of your location, giving a good overview of the route. As you approach the next step in your journey, a turn or a roundabout for example, the software chimes off a good 500 yards from the waypoint. This is perhaps a tad too soon, but perhaps better too soon than too late, as some GPS navigators have been known to do.
