Acer, Quanta join forces to launch portable desktop PCs

Acer and Quanta, seeking to tap the murky zone between desktop and notebook computers, have joined forces to plan a new line of notebook-like PCs powered by desktop chips. The products will be launched in China and Europe, Acer's traditionally strong sales bases, during the second half of the year, people familiar with the matter said.
