Test Setup
- Fujitsu Siemens Activy Media Server 150 (TwonkyMedia 3.3)
We used a variety of streaming servers as our sources for the A/V clients. One of them was the Fujitsu Siemens Activy Media Server 150, which comes with the TwonkyMedia software v3.3 pre-installed.
- QNAP NAS and Media Server
QNAP sent us another A/V server that doubles as a NAS storage device and also offers a wide range of other functionality. The enclosure can house up to two 3.5” SATA-II hard drives.
- TwonkyMedia V4.4
TwonkyMedia’s newest release of its A/V server software also had to prove that it plays nice with the streaming clients as a standalone solution.
*- Zyxel DiXim Media Server
We installed the DiXim Media Server on our test PC specifically for Zyxel’s DMA-1000. The Spartan user interface allows the user to share directories. The A/V client recognizes the server without any problems. This is only true for the DMA-1000, though – none of the other clients were able to find it.
- Windows Vista Media Player
Simple sharing of audio and video files is possible through the Windows Media Player in Windows Vista. The directories shared in this fashion were found by all A/V clients in this review, resulting in unproblematic streaming.

Try running your tests with a X-Box and PS3 as the end-point devices.
Mmm. I thought you would have looked that the TVIX HD M-4100SH. I have one, and it is truly the monkey's nuts. I'm using it with an NSLU2 unslung. Awesome combo....
