Microsoft announces cheaper Xboxes for Europeans
As part of it’s ongoing strategy to open up the ultimate in high-definition gaming and entertainment to an even wider audience, with an offering for everyone, Microsoft has announced a number of price cuts for the Xbox in Europe.
Microsoft today announced it is lowering the estimated retail price (ERP) of the Xbox 360 in Europe.
From Friday [that’s the same day as the iPhone launch in Ireland, fun-filled Friday, eh ? –Ed] an Xbox 360, which includes a 20GB hard drive and a controller, will have an ERP of £199, which is about £50 cheaper than what you pay now.
If you’re looking for an Xbox Elite, which comes with a massive 120GB hard drive you’re now looking at £259.99 as opposed to in or around 300 quid. Continuing with the price cuts Microsoft is knocking about £40 off the Arcade version of the console putting it at around £159.99.
Xbox 360 is the number one next-gen console in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, owning 42% of the market in terms of life-to-date revenue. Xbox 360 continues to enjoy the highest software attach rate of any game console in Europe with more than 7.0 games sold per console (PS3 : 3.8 ; Wii 3.5) after 26 months on the market.

You can get a very good PC for that price. The games are cheaper too!
The UK price for just about anything makes me cry.
I agree with you on the price. And we cant even get the US version as it dont work on our power or Appled to know where it is and therefore stop working. Also why does the US get things before us
