Tokyo (Japan) - Dell today announced the XPS One, one of its highest-end enthusiast computers to date.

The One has a 20-inch widescreen, high definition glass display, side-mounted speakers, and a built-in webcam. It also has pre-configured Wi-Fi, internal Bluetooth, and an 8-in-1 media card reader.

The system also comes packed with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, Premiere Elements 4, and Soundbooth CS3. It also qualifies for Dell’s "first class" service, which gives users, among others things, 10 GB of online storage.

Standard packages include 2 GB of dual channel DDR2 SDRAM, integrated video cards, and a DVD burner upgradeable to a Blu-ray Disc burner. Windows Vista Home Premium also comes standard.

However, Dell says the real innovation is with the multimedia keys. They have motion sensitive technology, allowing the system to sense when the user’s hand approaches the keys. When this happens, they turn a luminous blue dynamically to the hand position.

A wireless mouse and keyboard are also included in the PC bundle, which starts at around $1500. From there they go up to around $2400, the main difference being the BD burner and an upgraded hard drive of 500 GB.

They are all fairly similar to Gateway’s akin titled "One" computer, except the manufacturer’s specs do not quite go all the way to the premium XPS One.

Pre-orders can be placed now at Dell’s website.
